Yes!
All of the art installations on the art trail are free to experience.
The only parts of Strange which are ticketed are the live performances in the performance spaces.
Check out our social media for announced events.
Our program can be found on the website.
Tickets can be purchased through our Performance page or through strangefest.oztix.com.au
All venues are empty retail spaces that promise a unique experience. Tickets are very limited to all events so get in quickly to avoid disappointment.
COR NOVIS is the the heart of Strange.
Each year, Forrest Place hosts a large format installation piece for the duration of the festival, with a final night performance that features fire, music and a massive send-off to Strange for another twelve months.
In 2022 was ‘THE FEAST’, a spiderweb that spanned 12 metres in diameter, which was set alight during the finale.
COR NOVIS celebrated ‘Heartland’ a large anatomical heart sculpture in 2023 with a performance about our home, rebirth and fire (of course).
2024 will see COR NOVIS expand to host a ‘prologue’ event on our opening night, Friday 14 June, with the story concluding on the closing night with a massive performance.
See COR NOVIS page for more details
This is a question that we get asked a lot.
Generally, yes it is.
Lots of installations are playful and experiential that children will love. They will also be likely things they have never seen before, and some mature themes will go over their heads.
There is however some content that may not be suitable, or at the parents discretion to show their kids. All installation spaces are hosted by our staff, who will be able to tell you what to expect inside. Any content warnings or trigger warnings will be advertised on the door of the installation space.
