Void Confessional
Void Confessional
- Exhibition
Void Confessional is a collection of photography, art and design celebrating the community of passionate weirdos known as The Church of Belligerence, and featuring the candid, gritty film photography of Sarah Shore, the dynamic, masterful portrait photography of Deric Martin, with contributions from Benny Bones, Alice Moira, Toby Joske, and more of our talented acolytes. Through their tribute we embrace the beauty to be found when good vibes are cast aside, allowing the dark aspects of the human experience to become a sanctioned ground for play and creativity.

Church of Belligerence
The Church of Belligerence provides a fit for the misfit, an outlet for the outsider, a place for the bloody belligerent. What began as a burner theme camp is now a community of creatives who over the years have developed their art in many forms, visual and performative. Strange 2024’s acolytes include Sarah Shore, student of film and photography at ECU. Her gritty, candid technique exploits the unpredictability of toy cameras and old equipment to capture the raw attitude of a scene. With her is playful, masterful photographer Deric Martin, whose dynamic, passionate shots in both live and studio environments never fail to capture the vibrant energy of the human spirit, even as Belligerence drags him back to the dark side. Alongside them are contributions from multi-talented artist and photographer Benny Bones, electrifying tributes from the neon mind of skilled photographer Alice Moira, and darkness made paint from Toby Joske.
